Again the evidence cannot be denied -- this is yet another
example of Vermeer using the Grail Geometry. In this case
it is The Tilted Hexagram that constrains the composition.
As in "The Officer and the Laughing Girl", Vermeer
oriented the gentleman's hat very obviously here in "The
Glass of Wine" to conform to one line of the hexagram;
but many, many other features have been placed in registration
with other lines, angles and nodes of this complex framework.
There are many more guidelines that can be drawn on this image,
but I have refrained from doing so, to keep the example immediately
obvious as confirmation of my analysis. The viewer may print
out the image and try drawing the rest of the lines -- try
drawing lines parallel to those provided.
